Carpet Laying Services Procurement Category Market Research Report from IBISWorld has Been Updated - September 10, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2014

The carpet laying services market displays a buyer power score of 3.6 out of 5, indicating that buyers have a greater degree of power during the negotiation process. A low level of market share concentration suggests that suppliers primarily compete based on price. The biggest suppliers, which include Spectra, Bonitz, Coleman and Creative Touch Interiors, operate on a national or regional basis. Market share concentration has decreased slightly, primarily due to the strong surge in construction activity, which has incited new players to enter the market, according to IBISWorld business research analyst Kiera Outlaw. As a result, buyers have been able to pit suppliers against each other to get the best price; however, buyers must take a supplier's level of experience and qualifications into consideration during the selection process, which slightly lowers buying power because more experienced suppliers charge higher rates.

A low level of product specialization within the market has been supporting buyer power. With few formal educational requirements and, in some states, voluntary certification requirements, buyers can easily source a reputable supplier to undertake their carpet installation project. Unfortunately for buyers, low profit margins among suppliers have hindered buyer power because suppliers tend to be inflexible on pricing, Outlaw says. However, buyers can counterbalance this trend by leveraging the high availability of substitute goods during negotiations.

Buyers have benefited from the low volatility in carpet installation prices during the period, which has enabled them to budget for their carpet laying expenses without worrying about a sudden price increase. With carpet laying service prices forecast to continue increasing through 2017, buyers should seek to establish contractual agreements to lock in current rates and hedge against price increases. Leading Park City Carpet Company, Kalia Flooring, Announces 30 New Designer Styles of Stain Resistant Carpet - September 10, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Park City, Utah (PRWEB) September 10, 2014

When it comes to selecting new carpet, homeowners are often left deciding between style or durability. Kalia Flooring and Design Center announces a solution to bring homeowners the best of both worlds. The Utah floor company has expanded their inventory to include 30 styles of stain resistant carpets. Now, homeowners can have great looking carpet with the added advantage of long-term durability.

A recent survey amongst Kalia Flooring's customers revealed that carpet cleaning in the greater Salt Lake City metro averages $45 per room, with increased cost based on larger room sizes. With such high costs, consumers can expect to pay around $200 every time they get their carpets cleaned. Founder of Kalia Flooring, Scott Heath, comments. "There's a common misconception that stain resistant carpet is not affordable. When you add up maintenance, cleaning and stain removal cost on traditional carpet, stain resistant carpet pays for itself in the long run, many times over."

Stain resistant carpets are great for any home, but particularly for those with children or heavy foot traffic. Less hassles and cleaning means money saved. Stain resistant polymers look and feel like regular carpet, but they feature added protection and durability.

Stain resistant carpets are made of special polymer that has the capability to protect itself from being permanently stained from soil and other staining agents. An additional benefit of stain resistant carpet is that homeowners can be assured that you their loved ones will not be exposed to chemicals from carpet cleaning that may pose a potential threat to the household.

As some cleaning in inevitable, cleaning and maintaining stain resistant carpet is much easier, and often does not require hiring professional carpet cleaners. Mr. Heath remarks. "One of the greatest benefits of stain resistan carpet is how simple cleaning is. It just takes a mild detergent solution to remove dirt. No traces will be seen after cleaning, and unlike other carpets there is no need for any other special treatment."

Kalia Flooring will be offering new carpet installation in Salt Lake City, Utah's greater metropolitan area, including Park City and Davis County. The new inventory includes 30 styles of luxurious fiber and thickness and vibrant color selections. To inquire about stain resistant carpets or for a no-obligations quote, visit http://www.KaliaFloors.com or call 1-801-263-9600.

Grand Wailea Announces Room Renovation & Resort Enhancements - September 6, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Los Angeles, Ca (PRWEB) September 05, 2014

A landmark on the beautiful island of Maui for the past two decades, Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, is announcing a $30 million rennovation which includes all new guest room interiors as well as upgrades in the hotels meeting areas and its famous pools with a completion date set for early 2015. Known for reflecting a stunning blend of Hawaiis culture and natural beauty, the upgrades are designed to further enhance the guest experience with a fresh, contemporary island look.

Room design updates are being headed by esteemed interior architect Robert Barry of the Los Angeles based Barry Design Associates (BDA) who won the account via a design competition. The firm was behind the luxuriously iconic look of the resorts Spa Grande and has worked on hotels & spas including: the One & Only, Bahamas, the El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico, the Mauna Kea on the Big Island in Hawaii, the Beverly Wilshire Spa and the Naples Grand Beach Resort.

Sustainability is a focus of the room reimagining with: LED lighting used throughout and all carpet being made from recycled material, including bed accent carpet made of recycled nylon fish nets from the islands of the Pacific. Carpet tile is being used throughout the rooms so each can be replaced individually as needed.

Barry says the overall design focuses on a clear but subtle sense of place, translated in a sleek, modern aesthetic. For instance, the color story for the room palette is derived from the island of Maui and its surroundings with: the green scheme from the lush landscape of Hana; the auburn/brown and gold scheme from the colors inside the Haleakala Crater and the coral scheme for the reefs that surround the island. The platform bed and wicker style furniture is fitting for the resorts tropical setting.

The theme of the featured artwork curated by Nancy Caslin Art & Design is water and surfers, including a photograph of the Hawaiian native, Shane Dorian, who is in the Surfers Hall of Fame. The art is printed on canvas and stretched around wood without a frame, allowing the images to be quite large.

We designed the rooms with a clean look to attract the young modern demographic that is becoming very design savvy, explains Barry. Research was also used to ensure that the room features appeal to todays traveler who comes even on holiday equipped with cellphones, laptops and iPads all of which need to be charged.

Research was also used to ensure that the room features appeal to todays traveler who comes even on holiday equipped with cellphones, laptops and iPads all of which need to be charged. The room has regular outlets and USB chargers built right into the desk and the nightstands, which is especially important since the mobile phone most often doubles as an alarm clock for this demographic. There are even USB ports on the flat screen TVs for ease of viewing trip photos, accessing emails, music, etc.

Specific renovations to the 23-year-old Grand Wailea include:

Announcing the Best New Source for High Quality, Low Cost, Wood Floor Refinishing and Wood Floor Medallions in the … - September 4, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) September 04, 2014

Wood floor refinishing is more than just a refresh or a touch up. It's a combination of art and science, along with a healthy dose of experience. This is especially true when it comes to the wood floor medallions. Generally, hardwood floor medallions are not part of the original installation. That's why it pays to have a professional wood floor restoration specialist when it comes to refinishing.

Because medallions are usually installed well-after the initial flooring, they are not the same age. Subtle differences are only visible to a trained eye. Medallions greatly increase the already pleasing aesthetics of hardwood, providing a focal point to center other stylish features around. Medallions not only add to the beauty of the space, but add a certain amount of value.

In a recent survey, conducted by the National Association of Realtors, participants were asked about flooring preference. It came as no surprise, hardwood bested carpet, laminate, and tile. Though tile performs quite well, it still lacks the charm innate in hardwood flooring. Respondents stated tile presented maintenance challenges, particularly tedious grout cleaning. Carpet fared worse still, with study participants stating it loses its luster in just a few short years. In addition, carpet stains easily. What's more, another survey conducted by the International Association of Home Stagers found carpet, along with laminate, to be the least consumer favored flooring choices. Hardwood ranked number one in the same study.

It only requires weekly sweeping and periodic buffing to keep it looking great, making care of hardwood flooring one reason for homeowner and business owner preference. Unlike carpet, hardwood can be refinished and improved with decorative medallions. Carpet frays, mats, and must be completely replaced. Conversely, hardwood can be restored with little effort. Tile cracks and even one tile breaking can mean having to replace many others, if not the entire room or most of the home to keep its continuity.

For more information about this experienced and professional wood flooring contractor, or to schedule repairs by this hardwood floor company, or learn about custom wood styles or the companys inlay and medallion installation services, phone Keith Allman at 414-378-2066. Estimates and appointments are currently available through the companys website, RoyalWoodFloor.com. The company provides top craftsmanship and cares for many types of custom and domestic wood. Benson library continues with series of improvements - August 30, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Reading into the future Benson library continues with series of improvements

By Beverly Clark bclark@titusvilleherald.com Saturday, August 30, 2014 4:06 AM EDT

You may do a double-take the next time you walk into Benson Memorial Library.

Not everyone has noticed the change, but those who have gave positive responses to the new carpeting in the library, according to library director Tara Bartley.

Bartley said the previous carpet was 25 years old, and there were noticeable stains, along with general wear and tear.

The librarys board decided decided it was time for new carpeting.

The library closed for a little more than a week, from Aug. 15 to Aug. 25, for the installation.

The library received partial funding for the carpeting from various foundations, such as Harold D. Jones for Charities; PNC Foundation, Harold A. Heist TUW Trust B; PNC Foundation, and Fred Lintner Fund; and the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation.

With the new carpet, there are also some boarders on the floor in the different rooms of the library, which Bartley said were there to help define the space, and the accent gray color would help give it its place.

In August 2013, the library also put in completely new lighting, seeking energy efficiency, so the old lights were being phased out.
