OCONOMOWOC After a few months of vacancy, the former Arbys building at 662 E. Wisconsin Ave. is set to have a new occupant starting in December.

Oconomowoc City Planner Jason Gallo said the new business will be called Lake House Cafe.

Gallo said the cafe will be a family restaurant and the owner plans on painting the interior and exterior, replacing the carpet and the sign out front.

Daniel Gutierrez, son of owner Gustavo Gutierrez, said the family owns the Mukwonago Family Restaurant as well, but that Gustavo wanted to open a new business while the Mukwonago Family Restaurant undergoes repairs due to an electrical fire.

We owned that restaurant in Mukwonago for about two years ... but the repair is taking too long and my dad wanted to get something going right away, Gutierrez said. We found this location in Oconomowoc and it seemed like a really nice area so we got it.

Gutierrez said Lake House Cafe will mainly serve American food including burgers, omelettes and other breakfast foods.

Furthermore, Gutierrez said the restaurant will make use of the drive thru window for patrons who dont want to come inside.

Our drive thru will be open in the morning and afternoon and then we will close our dining room in the evening to have dinner served through the drive thru, Daniel said.

In addition, new greenery will be added to replace old bushes and a new patio will be installed.

Daniel said the construction on the patio will begin in the spring.

Tesla just reported third-quarter results including net income of 331 million dollars (GAAP) on revenue of $8.77 billion, meaning Tesla again broke its own records or simply continues to grow.

Strong delivery and production figures issued earlier in September had indicated as much, and Tesla confirms that they achieved the results mainly through substantial growth in vehicle deliveries. They also claim to be on track to make their target of delivering half a million vehicles this year.

But down to the numbers first. This Q3, the total revenue grew 39% YoY. With GAAP at 331 million dollars, Tesla also reports its fifth consecutive quarter of net profit. This was at $327 million in Q2. Like last quarter, Tesla also claims to have raised the cash and cash equivalents. this time by $5.9B in Q3 to $14.5B, driven by a recent capital raise of $5.0B.

During the earnings call, the company said both profit, as well as revenue, was down to the vehicle deliveries as mentioned above.Automotive revenue comprised $7.6 billion, about 91% of the total for the quarter. Tesla also made $397 million in carbon trading during the quarter nearly doubling the amount it made from these credits year-over-year, and we leave it to you to cue into the profit here.

At the same time, the delivery figures for Q3 were at a record-high for the company that delivered 139,300 electric vehicles in the period July throughout December this year. Aggregating the quarterly figures, they produced 329,980 electric vehicles and delivered a total of 318,350 Teslas in 2020.

Investors were still eager to hear whether Tesla was on track to hit the target of half a million cars delivered at years end. Announced pre-Covid, Tesla has not taken the target off its back but will need another record quarter to close 2020 with 181,650 more vehicles. Today they said:

We have the capacity installed to produce and deliver 500,000 vehicles this year. While achieving this goal has become more difficult, delivering half a million vehicles in 2020 remains our target. Achieving this target depends primarily on quarter-over-quarter increases in Model Y and Shanghai production, as well as further improvements in logistics and delivery efficiency at higher volume levels.

When looking at the Model 3 and Y, these make for 128,044 units (up 60%) out of the total production of 145,036 (up 50% YoY, +76% QoQ). This is also down to Tesla having recently increased capacity of Model 3 / Model Y to 500,000 units a year in Fremont as they said.

For the Model S and X, the operational summary also showed a 169% increase in premium production QoQ, another indication of much more efficient manufacturing. Year-on-Year, the output has risen by 4 per cent to 16,992 units.

The concentration on making more volume models showed in the vehicle average selling price (ASP) too, which had declined slightly compared to the same period last year as our product mix continues to shift from Model S and Model X to the more affordable Model 3 and Model Y, the company states. More so, Tesla has lowered the price of its cars repeatedly in the last few months.

Tesla also brought down the inventory, that is how long it takes for a delivery to 14 days, that is a reduction of 22% YoY.

At the same time, the operating income, that measures the amount of profit realized from business operations after deducting operation expenses such as wages, depreciation and cost of goods sold (COGS), was looking up at Tesla. The company claims they reached a record level of operating income in Q3, that is $809M, resulting in a 9.2% operating margin (the profit a company makes on a dollar of sales before taxes). Again this was due to the high output and also advances in the efficiency.

It had already become clear in the delivery and production figures, that the Californian carmaker had reversed the Corona-related decline and instead achieved strong growth once again, esp. as Giga Shanghai is gearing up.

Manufacturing is also were Elon Musk feels his company is most underrated. During the call, he compared the conventional automotive industry to the business of a carpenter that relies on suppliers to assemble the products. Tesla is working to keep everything in their hand, not the least with battery production but also by innovating in the Valleys disruptive manner but recently around the world.

Model 3 production capacity has increased to 250,000 units a year at Giga Shanghai, says Tesla (up from 200,000). Plus, they mention the recently lowered prices in China facilitated by lower-cost batteries and an increased level of local procurement. As a result of this shift in cost and starting price, we recently added a third production shift to our Model 3 factory, Tesla said. These cheaper batteries are the cheaper LFP cells CATL has been making locally for the electric carmaker (Ed.).

For Giga Berlin, construction progresses with Tesla expecting move-in of equipment to start over the coming weeks. The company previously announced that the site near Berlin would become a testbed for the new 4680 cells as well as the mentioned advanced manufacturing methods. The most prominent example is massive die casting machines which will eventually cast Model Y frames in two if not one piece.

Overall, Tesla considers the company on track to start deliveries from each location in 2021. This also includes the Gigafactory Texas. Tesla Semi deliveries will also begin in 2021, according to the EV maker. Production of these trucks will then happen at the site near Austin, where Tesla will also build the Cybertruck. CEO Elon Musk managed expectations regarding the pick-up truck when he told investors to expect first deliveries at the end of 2021 while series production in larger quantities would not begin before 2022.

For the 25k electric car Tesla promised at Battery Day in September, the company still considers it a critical component to exceed cost parity with internal combustion engine vehicles. In their statement, they repeated the claims of reducing battery pack cost per kWh by 56% and enabling the production of a profitable $25,000 vehicle.

Besides, the Supercharger network continues to grow, this quarter by 33 per cent YoY. Tesla now has 2,181 sites worldwide that add up to 19,437 connections.

On the note of Tesla considering itself an energy company foremost and in future, Tesla reported an installed solar capacity of 57 MW in the third quarter, 111 per cent more than the 27 MW in Q2. Like with the other data delivered today, this too is the best figure in the past twelve months (the increase in solar is 33% YoY). The companys solar modules cost no more than 1.49 dollars per Watt, with installations taking around 1.5 days. The Frank J. Basloe Library in Herkimer will add a handicapped accessible restroom with the help of a nearly $73,000 state grant, Assemblyman Robert Smullen announced.

The $72,647 grant was among those Smullen, R-Meco, announced Monday for libraries in New York's 118th Assembly District as approved by the state Education Department and the New York State Library Association. The fundsare available through a $34 million capital fund appropriation in the state budget.

Basloe Library Director Christine Fleischer said the library'stwo existing restrooms will be reconfigured. Athird restroom, one compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act,will be added.

While the present restrooms are spacious and fitted with grab bars, they are not accessible to all persons in wheelchairs, she said.

She does not expect the work to begin until next year, as the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed the timetable. The library applied last fall for the funding.

Weve applied for another grant and planned on combining the two projects, she said.

The library is also seeking $185,746 to construct a new childrens room.

At the moment, the children's room is in the rear of the library's main area out of sight for any parents working on the computers, Fleischer said.One of the windowsinstalled on the building'sNorth Main Street side will be part of the reconfigured area, which will be walled off with large windows to provide easy visibility.

Plans call for the current childrens room area to be used for quiet study, storage space andhousing the genealogy room.

The state funding requires a local match, said Fleischer, who added that she does not expect the library to receive the full amount requested. She said the available state funds for library construction projects dropped from the $34 million inthe current round to $14 million for the next. An anonymous $30,000 donation will provide the local share of the restroom project.

The library would haveto raise any portion of the funding for the next phase of the project that is not covered by grant money.

The first phase of the librarys renovation project, completed last year, included new windows, security improvements, electrical upgrades, anew circulation desk, new staff work spacesand new carpeting and paint.

I want the library to be a comfortable, welcoming place where people can make themselves at home, she said.

Last week, the internet collectively raised an eyebrow when rapper Offset shared a picture of an $8,000 Rolls Royce car seat that his daughter, Kulture Kiari, will be riding around in.

"8 thousand dollar car seat and i bet it has peanut butter and jelly on it in 1 week," he captioned the photo.

Car seats tend to cost between $70 to $600, with many options costing between $250 and $350. So some people were understandably shocked, especially given the fact that Kulture's seat didn't look much different from car seats that have price tags that are a fraction of the price.

"That's a Graco with a leather cover," one Instagram commenter wrote.

The Rolls Royce car seat isn't the first time that Kulture has been spoiled with super-expensive gifts and baby gear. When she turned two, Kulture was gifted a Birkin Bag, worth roughly $9,000.

In an Instagram Story that she also shared on Twitter, Cardi B clapped back at people who say kids only care about toys and candy.

"Yeah, kids only care about toys and candy, but the thing is that kids also go outside. You know what I'm saying? Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places, celebrity kids, they go do red carpets," she said. "And if I'm fly and Daddy's fly, then so is the kid. If I'm wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid's having the same same."

Ultimately, the brand name accessories and car seats aren't about Kulture, but about the family's image.

"It's not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they would be outside in diapers," Cardi said. "No. 'Cause if I was looking like a bad bi--h, expensive bi--h, and I have my kid looking like a bum bum, then y'all would be talking s--t. So I'm not mad that Daddy bought baby a Birkin. She gonna match Mommy."

No matter how much parents spend on a car seat, the key to safety is making sure the car seat is installed correctly.

"A higher price does not mean the seat is safer or easier to use," according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Children can be safe in the car no matter how expensive their car seat is.What's most important is to have a car seat that fits well with the vehicle and can be installed tightly, according to the AAP.

Since Cardi drives a custom Rolls Royce, the Rolls car seat might be the best fit for the car. But it's unlikely that it offers significantly more protection than Kulture would have in a mainstream car seat.

Price isn't necessarily indicative of a good car seat, but you want to find a seat that is easy to install. Especially if you'll be moving your child's seat between vehicles, it's good to have a car seat that you can quickly and safely install each time. But no matter what your budget, the rules of choosing a safe car seat are the same:

While having an easy-to-wipe down leather car seat might be nice, there's no need to worry if your car seat budget is much lower than Offset and Cardi B's. Like Offset said, the seat is just going to get covered in PB&J anyway.

VIENNA, VA The coronavirus pandemic means Halloween will look different this year. Fairfax County isn't recommending traditional door-to-door trick-or-treat, but the locality doesn't make decisions to host or cancel Halloween events.

Nevertheless, some events are happening in 2020 with safety precautions. We've rounded up some of the family-friendly events in the coming days in and around Vienna.

Many events may require pre-registration due to attendance limits. The list includes some events that have already sold out. Let us know in the comments if we missed anything.

The wave parade of 10 to 15 floats will leave the Vienna Community Center at 10 a.m. and visit the four quadrants of Vienna. Residents are encourged to dress up in costumes and view the parade near their homes. A route will be announced on Oct. 29 after 3 p.m.

Trunk or Treat at Emmanuel Lutheran Church: 2589 Chain Bridge Road, Vienna, VA

Oct. 31, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Families are invited to a socially-distanced trunk-or-treat. Children can wear costumes and participate in a parade. Afterward, they can visit various decorated trunks for nut-free, individually wrapped treats set out on tables. Masks are required for adults. Sign up online.

Project Title:

Comprehensive Watershed Management Planning for all Sub-Watershed River Basins

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Natural Resources Department is requesting separate sealed proposals for the services of a qualified engineering firm with experience in providing comprehensive watershed management plans for the purpose of updating our current watershed plans for all sub-watershed basins. The purpose of the comprehensive watershed management planning is prioritizing watershed-based projects across the landscape throughout all sub-watershed basins. The primary objective is to develop a watershed-level planning document by which The Tribal Office of Environment and Natural Resources (OENR) and other partners can initiate future natural resource management and source water protection strategies and identify potential stream restoration activities.

The comprehensive watershed management plan will be used to guide monitoring and conservation strategies, stream restoration efforts, BMP implementation and other nonpoint source pollutant related activities occurring in all sub-watersheds throughout the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) territory. Our objectives are to evaluate land cover and soil erodibility factors across the basin to rank sub-watershed for risks to water quality at multiple spatiotemporal scales and link land cover change over time to water quality and aquatic biota. Specifically, land cover percentages (impervious cover, agriculture activities, etc.) and landscapes features (soil types, % slope, etc.) at multiple spatial scales to categorize attributes and rank sub-watersheds from least to most susceptible to sedimentation. Additionally, landscape-level stressors within each sub-watershed will be ranked for targeting restoration activities.

This research will specifically address research to quantify effects of impervious cover, development and agricultural activities on water quality and aquatic life to identify and evaluate existing restoration activities and augment macroinvertebrate and fish recovery efforts due to non-point source pollution. Furthermore, research will be addressed by determining sediment sources and transport and elucidating hydrological and biological dynamics to promote community resilience and enhance watershed restoration and management. Site visits and field assessment opportunities will be provided to any qualified contractor upon request.

Protocols enacted by hospital environmental services (EVS) staff and health care workers to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus have also been effective against another infectious diseaseClostridium. difficile (C. diff).

A study in the American Journal of Infection Control found that the incidence of C. diff substantially decreased in 2020 compared to the previous three years due to steps taken to reduce COVID-19 infection, specifically a greater attention to hand hygiene, the use of masks, and the proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Researchers with SantAndrea University Hospital of Rome in Italy compared data on people discharged from the hospital from March 1 to June 30, 2020 to discharge data from 2017, 2018, and 2019. While the investigators found that there was no statistically significant difference inC. diffincidence in 2017, 2018, and 2019, the 2020 results proved to be quite different.

In 2017, among 422 discharged patients, 39 were found to have C. diff. In 2018, 25 patients from 348 discharged had C. diff and in 2019, 24 patients from 364 discharged had C. diff.

In comparison, only 11 patients among 333 discharged from wards without COVID-19 patients in 2020 had C. diff and seven patients from 150 patients discharged from COVID-19 wards had C. diff.

Investigators could not determine which of the pandemic protocols played the biggest role in slowingC. diffspread, but they noted that previous studies have shown that hand hygiene alone wasnt enough.

Interestingly, COVID-19 wards showed a higher incidence of C. diff, which suggests coronavirus infection as a possible risk factor for C. diff.
