"Working with Jimmy Crisp and his associates was a great and valuable learning experience that could not have turned out better than it did. Jimmy truly met, and in many instances, went beyond our expectations. The project, which was a complete gut renovation, went very smoothly and it did come in on budget with the exception of new items that were included after our original quote. Of course there were differences of opinions and long discussions about changes/desired outcomes and new costs, however, I would say that because of Jimmy's constant presence at the site, complete knowledge of exactly what was suppose to happen at all stages of the project and calm manner we escaped situations that could, at the time, have been less satisfactory. Jimmy, the associates and clerical employees of his firm are all a 10 in my book! My experience with Crisp Architects makes me believe that anyone seeking a great architect, backed by a most professional staff, could not do better than to choose Crisp Architects."

"A kitchen renovation turned into an expansion of the room. Michael was recommended to me by my brother-in-law who also builds large projects. We found Michael to be prompt in returning calls, on time with appointments and most of all full of great ideas! He showed us his extensive portfolio and we were truly impressed. He is easy to work with mainly because he's a great listener."

"When my husband and I took on the project of completely renovating an 1846 Greek Revival house in the back country of Greenwich, we ran into difficulties with the architect we had hired. Doug VanderHorn came to our rescue! Many architects might have been unwilling to take on a project that had already started, but Doug, to my everlasting gratitude, not only agreed to work with us, but brought fresh, new, creative and improved ideas to the table. His taste is impeccable and he ended up helping me with all kinds of related issue like bathroom tiles, special effects in moldings and fireplaces and placement of furniture in a difficult room. He is easy to work with and very realistic in his suggestions. I could not recommend him more highly! -Mrs. Russell S. Reynolds, Jr."

"I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment."

"We hired Brad to design a spec house for us in Rye, NY. As an Architect myself, I was extremely happy with the quality of work produced and the communication between us. It was a pleasure to work with Brad, and his understanding of our needs and requirements was second to none. Brad listened well to our needs and was able to efficiently express them in graphic form, & he always worked in an organized & professional manner. He was always easily available by phone & email, always returning my calls & emails promptly. The construction drawings were done to be within our construction budget, & when changes were made he was gracious & fair with regard to fees for extra services. He also helped us in selecting materials, & we were happy with those selections & the variety as well. While we haven't started construction yet, on past projects he was always accessible and able to clarify field conditions and changes by clients. We would definitely hire him again, and we would (and have) recommended him to our other clients who were also very happy with his service."

"Archetype did an amazing job for me as architects for the gut renovation of a 8,000 sf townhouse. They created a great plan, paid attention to every detail, were highly responsive in making modifications, went over and beyond the call of duty to get drawings done with a very tight deadline, and were a pleasure to work with. Navigating the permitting process in NYC is complex and arbitrary, but working with Archetype made it quite painless. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again in the near future and would highly recommend them."

"Very pleased with work from Clawson Architects - Rene, Marvin and their team. Over a number of years they have supported 2 projects at our house - new bathroom, new kitchen and other changes that made the house meet our needs. In the last job, we had ambitious plans, they listened to why we wanted to do it and suggested a smarter, much lower cost approach that gave us exactly what we needed. One innovative idea that no one had suggested in 10 years of our living there until they and it saved me quite a lot of money. Their work is thorough and top notch."

"I most highly recommend this architect. Not only did he create a stunning remodel for us, but his constant help throughout the project kept everyone on track and ultimately made our remodel a huge success. I was always able to get into contact throughout the (almost year long) project, and I felt as if he always had time for us.I would not hesitate to do business with him again."

"I found Ben Herzog Architects while browsing Houzz.com. I would add photos to my ideabook and discovered that most of the projects were done by Ben! Ben has been great helping us decide how we can maximize space in our 1917 Brooklyn row house. We have decided on a more open floor plan, new wood plank floors, high hat lighting, a bit larger kitchen space with higher ceiling and an island, a shallow broom closet and banquette seating in our dining room. The demolition began 9/5/12 and as a result we have discovered that we can open up the doorway openings even more than planned! Ben is happily revising his drawings and I can't wait to see the changes! Ben and his team are easy to work with and very helpful with design and product ideas while keeping our budget in mind!"

"We are totally happy with the results of our kitchen re-do by Berceli. We are in a NYC Classic 6 with a good-sized galley kitchen. We are that NYC rarity, in that we cook almost every night. We were perfectly content with the kitchen footprint, but it sadly needed an upgrade. The estimate we got from the project manager, Samir, was not cheap, but totally accurate. There were no surprises. The designer somehow managed to not only create a beautiful kitchen, but somehow got us a lot more storage in the same space...I still can't figure out how. Cindi helped us with the fine details as colors and backsplash, which added to the overall look. Were there glitches along the way? Of course there were, as you don't tear out a complete kitchen without having some problems. However, Berceli was immediately responsive, answering emails and calls very promptly if something didn't look right. i would hire them again without question."

Architecture offers an inspiring and innovative career for those with the right technical and creative aptitude
As an architect you'll design new buildings or extensions or alterations to existing structures, and advise on the restoration and conservation of old properties. You may work on individual buildings or on large redevelopment schemes, and your responsibility can extend to the design of the surrounding landscape and spaces.
Working closely with clients and users, you'll make sure that projected designs match requirements and are functional, safe and economical. You'll usually control a project from start to finish and work with a number of construction professionals, including surveyors and engineers.
As an architect, you'll need to:
Your salary will vary according to the location, sector and size of your employing organisation, and are usually higher in London. Obtaining chartered status and gaining experience usually results in higher pay.
Income figures are intended as a guide only.
Your contracted working hours will generally be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but you need to be prepared to work long hours, including evenings and weekends when a project demands it.
Part-time work or career breaks may be possible in some organisations, although they are generally uncommon.
While it's common to complete a recognised degree programme in order to qualify, there are also practice-based routes available such as Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Studio, as well as architecture apprenticeships which are currently being developed.
Many universities hold interviews with students prior to offering a place on an architecture course. Candidates are expected to have a portfolio demonstrating a broad mixture of work, including sketches, freehand drawings, photographs and models.
You must register with the statutory body, the Architects Registration Board (ARB), in order to legally use the title 'architect' in the UK.
Chartered architect status is available through membership of RIBA, although it's not a legal requirement to be registered with RIBA in order to practise.
The standard entry route into the architecture profession entails at least seven years in training and higher education. See the ARB Student Handbook and the RIBA section on becoming an architect.
This usually consists of:
RIBA Studio, delivered in partnership with Oxford Brookes University, is open for people who have a minimum of three years' experience working in an architectural practice. The programme is available at Part 1 and Part 2 level, and is completed through self-study and distance learning while the candidate remains working full time in the practice.
RIBA does not offer conversion courses for graduates with non-accredited or unrelated degrees. Graduates or architects with non-accredited or international qualifications in architecture may be able to undertake an assessment for equivalence with the Architects Registration Board.
You will need to show:
You should regularly practise drawing to enhance your skills. Model-making skills are also an advantage. It's important to take an interest in publications or TV programmes about buildings, and to keep up to date with the current trends in architecture and design.
In addition to the professional experience required, any pre-entry work experience in an architectural, design or construction environment is desirable and highly regarded by recruiters. Many firms offer internship opportunities over the summer break, which can provide invaluable experience.
Try to develop contacts in the industry, through work experience, academic departments, personal contacts and local representatives of professional bodies and associations. Joining one of the professional bodies, which usually offer free student membership, provides access to professional journals and information about vacancies.
Private practices employ salaried architects and may eventually provide the opportunity for you to become a partner or associate. These can range from small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to much larger practices that will incorporate other professional areas, such as planning, urban design, construction or project management.
Central and local government also employ architects in their planning departments. Other employers include construction companies, commercial and industrial organisations and retailers and manufacturers. Teaching and research institutions are another option, as is self-employment as a consultant.
Look for job vacancies at:
Recruitment agencies also handle vacancies, and some specialise in architectural and creative roles, such as:
RIBA manages a web-based Professional Education and Development Resource (PEDR) for students undertaking the practical experience elements of an architect's training. This provides information and guidance and also contains an online diary facility, which you can use to keep a record of your practical experience. Records completed on the PEDR are required to be produced at the Part 3 final qualifying examination.
Most large firms offer structured training and encourage professional status. Attending internal and external training courses, relevant seminars and conferences is an effective way of keeping up to date with current issues and refreshing knowledge.
Chartered architects are required to complete a minimum of 35 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every year to maintain their competence.
The mandatory part of the RIBA's CPD curriculum is made up of ten topics. Chartered architects must carry out at least two hours of study in each of these areas every year:
Gaining chartered membership of RIBA and undertaking agreed levels of CPD are key parts of career development and will enable your progression into more senior posts.
Architects with more than five years of chartered membership and who have demonstrated distinguished achievement in architecture may be awarded Fellow of RIBA status and entitled to use the affix FRIBA. Architects in Scotland can find useful career development information from the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
Larger private practice firms generally offer more opportunities for advancement, although there is often no set career structure. In the public sector, career progression is influenced by the nature and responsibilities of public institutions. With experience, a considerable number of architects set up their own practices.
If you're interested in working abroad, you can find further information from the International Union of Architects.

Sales Architects helps its clients develop processes to hire the right salespeople, effectively onboard them and align their sales activities with business objectives
Using our proprietary sales architecture methodology, we help our clients migrate from being people-based to process-based resulting in explosive, profitable growth.
Sales Architects is a non-traditional business consulting firm. We specialize in sales, marketing, and sales management with the fundamental goal of helping our clients adapt and thrive in the ever-changing world of business. The way we do that is by rolling up our sleeves and working side-by-side with our clients to ensure goals are met. Our clients feel that we are part of their team because we are. No fluff stuff here! When clients contract with us, they expect success and so do we. Nothing less is acceptable
If we dont drop our price, we will lose the deal.
Thats the desperate cry from salespeople as they try to win deals in competitive marketplaces. While the easy answer is to lower the price, the company sacrifices marginoften times unnecessarily.
To win deals at the prices you want, the strategy needed is differentiation. Most executives think marketing is the sole source of differentiation. But what about the sales function of the company? This commonly neglected differentiation opportunity provides a multitude of ways to stand out from the competition. This ground-breaking book teaches you how to develop those strategies.
Salespeople have an opportunity to create meaningful differentiation in the ways in which they sell.
To avoid the sales mirage cycle and countless dollars (and selling time) being wasted, executives need to conduct their own product analysis rather than taking the sales perspective as gospel.
Its one thing for you to see a difference, but its another for your buyer to see it through their eyes.
There are many salespeople who will not adapt to their new selling environment. Those salespeople will most certainly be run out of the profession.
The words salespeople use, and dont use, differentiate them.

In 2004 twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle started the band, originally named "Counting The Days". Sam Carter who at the time was an active drummer in several other projects, joined the band in 2007. With their second record RUIN (2007) (the first in which Sam was involved) they sparked interest from bigger labels and in 2008 were signed as a part of the Never Say Die! Tour, supporting bands such as Parkway Drive. Only a year later they headlined the UK dates of said tour.
With other releases such as HOLLOW CROWN (2009) and LOST FOREVER // LOST TOGETHER (2014) the Architects fandom grew, many tours throughout North America, Australia and Europe followed. In their song 'C.A.N.C.E.R' guitar player Tom Searle referenced his cancer condition (of which they hadn't shared publicly until after his death). After he was declared cancer free after leg surgery in 2013, the cancer unfortunately returned.
On August 21st 2016, three months after the release of their seventh studio record ALL OUR GODS HAVE ABANDONED US as well as the cancellation of an US headliner tour "due to a family emergency", drummer Dan Searle shared the sad news of his brother's passing in a Facebook post. "I dont know what will become of Architects", he wrote, "We will not release any music unless we truly believe that it is something that Tom would have been proud of."
Two years later this is exactly what Architects have achieved: Accompanied by the single 'Hereafter' they announced the pending release of HOLY HELL, the first record without founding member Tom. Included in HOLY HELL's track list is 'Doomsday', one of the last tracks in which Tom had worked on, finished by the remaining band members including new lead guitarist Josh Middleton. With this record Architects have created the monument for Tom that he deserves. With the release of "Hereafter" and "Royal Baggers" Architects show that they stick to their original sound just like bands The Ghost Inside or While She Sleeps did

"We are difficult and tedious clients who say at the outset that we will be guided by our architect.....but then give preference tour own ideas, and send sketched instructions on squared paper expecting our misguided vision to result in excellence.Quinlan and his colleagues did not treat us with the distain we deserved.....but guided us through the swamp of planning and application processes with tact and professionalism.Their ideas often prevailed, and the finished result surprised even the architect in its simplicity and effectiveness.Engage Quinlan and be assured of the best efforts of this talented and industrious Perth-boy."

"My wife and I live in Singapore, and taking on the task of designing and building a house on the Mornington peninsula in Melbourne was always going to be challenging given the distance and the fact we wanted to be closely involved. Engaging Minett Studio has been a terrific decision as not only are we happy with the architecture, but Alishia has seamlessly managed all the interconnecting parts for us engineers, planning authorities, builders and suppliers. Her skill lies in understanding what each player needs, and designing right solutions on the first attempt. Were delighted with her expertise and service."

"Dear Clinton,It is with pleasure that we write to you to express our gratitude for commencing and completing the renovation of our property at 180 Barcom Avenue, Darlinghurst.Initially we came to you at a time when our proposed renovation with another builder/designer was turning into a complete nightmare. Thankfully we saw the light, sacked the w***** and turned to you in desperation. Our act of desperation turned into a fabulous opportunity and post CplusCs appointment we moved ahead at a rapid and consistent pace. We were most fortunate to have your expertise and guidance throughout the project. We especially appreciated and respected your advice and felt safe, positively controlled and highly informed throughout the process. We have been asked many times if we would do it again and we have categorically stated that if we had CplusC performing a renovation we wouldnt hesitate. So thanks once again to you and not to mention the fabulous tradies. Too many times you hear of great jobs accompanied by bad staff or vice versa, however we were able to experience both.We wish you all the success with CplusC. R. & J. "I engaged Taylor Knights as architects and interior designers for this challenging renovation and addition to my Federation home in St Kilda. They far exceeded my expectations with service and innovative design. Peter and James carefully listened to the complex brief, responding in a considered way delivering a house exceptional in design and on budget. Maximum advantage was made of the space available, even converting the existing roof space into a home office, something I hadnt considered. By working the traditional heritage features with the contemporary an element of surprise and sophistication has been achieved throughout. I particularly love the connection with the outdoors and the use of natural light which streams through the skylights on even the dullest days. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. This is a fantastic home and I would highly recommend Taylor Knights."

"We have worked on a number projects McMahon & Nerlich and found them to be great to work with! Their pragmatic and level-headed approach to building issues ensures the construction phase runs smoothly free for all parties. We have worked on renovation projects up to $1m and would have no hesitation in recommending McMahon & Nerlich for renovation and new build projects."

"In 1996, Robert designed a brilliant renovation for our Edwardian home in North Melbourne. It became a home we loved to live, work and entertain in and we lived there for 15 great years. Now weve moved out to the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, where our landscape is all about space and sky. Weve been on paper with Robert again for the past year and now have another beautiful design to progress. His ability to listen and hear whats important to you and what you want a home to be is greatly appreciated after all, youre the ones wholl be living there. There are many different challenges this time around a home that will be off-grid completely and require minimal heating and cooling requires a great deal of additional thinking and planning. He effortlessly guides us through all parts of the process and he is collaborative and consultative. As with our earlier working relationship, were happy that Robert just gets us and what we want to achieve. This time were planning our forever home and we know were in safe hands."

"Jess and Tristan are both extremely professional and a joy to work with. They came to our house to meet personally to discuss our needs and look at the property. They were extremely honest with their quote and were able to explain to us exactly what we would be able to do within our budget. Every step of the way they were friendly, helpful, and were able to keep our minds at rest by emailing us updates. After it was all over we were able to extend our loungeroom out and raise the ceiling. If we ever need help with an extension (or even a new house!) again we will definitely be giving them another call. Thanks guys!"

"I photographed Mihaly Slocombe's Glendearg Grove project last year. What I really liked about this project is how much light it captured and how the indoor space communicated with the space outside. As soon as I walked inside, it felt open and homely at the same time. I was particularly impressed with the level of detail Erica and Warwick put into the kitchen design - not only was it aesthetically beautiful, with it's contrasting tones and materials, but it was a pleasurable kinaesthetic experience, one of tactile functionality. After the shoot I wanted to get in there and cook a meal, just so I could touch everything!Working with Mihaly Slocombe on photoshoots has been a smooth collaboration - we both have great care for detail and getting it right. They are true professionals and their passion for great architectural solutions is evident."

All of the original members of Architects were intently involved with the Brighton music scene due them all growing up in the surrounding areas. They cross several genres with their technical music, the primary influences have been noted as ranging through artists from hardcore punk and heavy metal music with Meshuggah, Converge, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Gojira and Thrice all noted as influencers. Sam Carter who was a drummer and studied drums at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music before joining Architects, had performed in multiple local bands, one of which had the opportunity of supporting Enter Shikari. Architects was born in 2004 when Drummer Dan Searle and his twin brother Guitarist Tom Searle began the project under the name Counting Days, until the addition of Matt Johnson, guitarist Tim Hillier-Brook and Tim Lucas on bass guitar continued as Architects.
After the release of their debut album Nightmares in May of 2006, the band were offered the opportunity to tour with several prolific artists including Beecher and Bring Me The Horizon, yet due to the age of the members at the time they had to book several weeks off college in order to continue their touring schedule. After their first album, Architects sound was forced to change dramatically due to the departure of lead vocalist Matt Johnson He was replaced by local musician Sam Carter who had been described by Searle as an 'easy choice'. After their next album 'Ruin' which took them on large headline tours in both the UK and the US they revealed they had been signed to Century Media Records for a three album deal. The first release was 'Hollow Crown' which made the first dent on the UK charts, placing it at #117 and was promoted with the band completing a 19 date headline tour of the United Kingdom before supporting Parkway Drive in Australia.
Their next album 'The Here and Now' was released in 2010 and saw the band's sound following a more commercial direction, with sales figures reflecting this as they charted at #57 in the UK, a substantial gain compared to its predecessor. Critics enjoyed the album, but fans were not impressed with the departure from the heavier, more technical sound they had first been attracted to. They slowly began to remedy this with their next releases, returning to the music they were first inspired to make, the outcomes were greatly rewarded as the 2014 release 'Lost Forever//Lost Together' saw them crack the top 20 of the UK and Australian album charts whilst making their first dent on the US billboard.
