CAMARILLO, Calif. -

Camarillo Investigations Bureau detectives, along with the Special Enforcement Unit, arrested Keagon Sims on February 27 for first degree residential burglary and elder abuse.

Investigators say Sims entered the victim's home in the 1800 block of Onda Drive in Camarillo between 9 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. in late February. Sims then stole several guns and a flat screen television.

The elderly victim was sleeping in a bedroom during the crime.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the victim had hired Sims via Facebook for a carpet cleaning job. When Sims arrived at the home, detectives said the victim was skeptical he was a professional carpet cleaner due to the fact his equipment appeared as if it had been rented from a grocery store.

Police discovered a window at the back of the victim's home had been purposely left unsecured. The victim said the only person who had been inside the home was Sims during the carpet cleaning job.

Since was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility in lieu of $60,000 bail.
