Cabinet locks & gas cylinders recalled

(WPRI) - The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of Safety 1st Cabinet Locks after more than 200 reports of children opening cabinets meant to be locked tight.

What's underneath your kitchen or bathroom cabinets? Probably lots of things you don't want your children near.

That's why parents buy locks like these. But Safety 1st is recalling 900,000 Push N' Snap Cabinet Locks after numerous reports poured in to the CPSC. The manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group has received 200 reports of locks that did not adequately secure the cabinet.

According to the complaints:

Consumers are being asked to remove the locks and contact the company for a free replacement lock. In the meantime, remove poisonous products out of reach.

Twenty-nine million gas cylinders manufactured by Worthington are being recalled.

The actual name of the product may be listed as Map Pro, Propylene and Mapp gas cylinders. The seal on the cylinders can leak after torches or other fuel consumer equipment are disconnected from them posing a fire hazard.

Consumers should return the containers to the store for a full refund. No injuries were reported regarding the gas cylinders.
