Building permit totals issued by the city of Watertown in September totaled more than $1 million for the fifth month this year, according to information from the citys building inspection department.

The city issued permits valued at $1,446,722.44 in September, down from the $14,240,300 issued in August. The August total included the $14 million renovation to the Watertown Regional Medical Center. The total value of permits issued to date this year is now at $31,473,440.44.

The largest permit in September was issued to WDS Construction to build a Slumberland furniture store at 1940 Market Way.

Other permits were issued to:

Granzow Home Improvement to build a deck at 1412 Davis St.; Loos Custom Homes to build a new home at 1422 Stoneridge Drive; Culbreth Remodeling for tenant alterations at 101 E. Main St.; Gregory Hinze to renew a building permit at 1416 Country Club Lane; AG Contractors to build a home addition and deck at 1000 N. Water St.; Fred Schroeder to build a pergola at 601 Maple Crest Lane; James Schmidt for front steps at 1045 N. Fourth St.; Everdry Waterproofing for basement waterproofing and foundation at 514 N. Montgomery St.; John Mock to build a detached garage at 126 W. Spaulding St.; Badger Basement for outside foundation piers at 511 Oak Park Ave.
