More than 13 months after Hurricane Irene caused severe flooding in the Schoharie Creek Basin of upstate New York the rebuilding of the Schoharie Reformed Church sanctuary building has yet to begin. Pre-existing structural issues were exacerbated by the flooding, leaving structural engineers and architects puzzling over how to correct 150 years worth of settling and shifting (1864 building).
