El Paso stack walk
NOVEMBER, 2012 We continue to videotape at the former Asarco smelter in El Paso as the demolition crew chews up the place and sends recyclable stuff out in trucks. Our first video on this project will include a tour of the large "Asarco" stack. We put a camera on stack climbers in 2010 and we also toured inside the base of that chimney, as the Save the Stacks architects now call it. We put cameras on the Save the Stacks engineers as they climbed these two former Asarco smelter smokestacks in October, 2012. This video is from that study with Industrial Access engineer Jon Powell climbing around the top of the 828 foot stack. This material wil be in the new TV series called "Last Tour of the El Paso Smelter." Volume One in this TV series will be about the large stack, and this TV documentary will be shown in El Paso, Texas in January, 2013. We have several more Volumes in production from dozens of TV tours of the smelter since May, 2010. Jackson Polk, program producerFrom:ElPasoHistoryTVViews:0 0ratingsTime:03:13More inFilm Animation
