The man accused of fatally stabbing 33-year-old Felipe Reyes Tuesday morning is being held on $750,000 cash bail.

The suspect, Fred Isitero "Isi" John, was charged yesterday with two counts of murder as a first-degree felony and aggravated assault as a second-degree felony.

All charges include a special allegation of the possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

Carlina Charfauros, Office of the Attorney General spokeswoman, said there's only one victim in this case and that both murder charges refer to that same victim, Reyes.

Under Guam law, murder suspects can be charged under different statutes.

Under one statute, criminal homicide is considered "murder" if it's committed intentionally. Under another statute, the same is true if it's committed "recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life."

John was arrested Tuesday morning following a fight with Reyes that left the victim with fatal wounds.

The attack is suspected of taking place around 2 a.m., according to police.

Medics brought Reyes to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead around 11 a.m.

Carlos Pelena, the man who owns the compound where the stabbing took place, said this was the third incident involving John, whom he called Isi.
