And that resulted in empty campaign coffers for most candidates.

Only newcomer Juan Pickett, a Terrebonne assistant district attorney, collected any contributions, raising $60,625 from individuals and businesses, according to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Louisiana Board of Ethics.

Re-elected were judges John Walker, George Larke Jr., David Arceneaux and Randy Bethancourt.

Pickett will be installed in January to replace Judge Timothy Ellender, who has reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. Picket did not collect any campaign contributions after winning election in August.
