Qualified Remodeler, the original, authoritative voice of the remodeling industry, has selected Donatelli Builders, Inc. as a 2013 winner of its nationally acclaimed Master Design Awards. Donatelli Builders, Inc. won three Master Design Awards this year in the categories of kitchen remodel, outdoor living and exterior facelift.

Donatelli Builders, Inc. is among just 38 residential remodeling/design/construction firms from across the country chosen for the 2013 Master Design Awards, the oldest and largest national remodeling design competition in the United States. As a winner, Donatelli Builders, Inc. will be honored during the Qualified Remodeler Awards Gala on Oct. 16, 2013, in Chicago.

The judges noticed a more generous use of color in many of the remodeling projects than they have in the past, and they enjoyed seeing the creativity applied to the transformations in this years entries, says Rob Heselbarth, Qualified Remodeler editorial director. The judges also remarked at the more prevalent contemporary design elements such as clean lines and simplicity within the remodeling projects. In addition, the projects appeared to have more meaning to the homeowners, including less superficiality and more function. Recession remodeling as one judge put it was common among many projects, reflected in smaller budgets and smaller-size projects where remodelers are faced with doing more with less.

From bathroom remodels to whole-house renovations, the awards program recognizes remodelers, architects, builders, kitchen and bath specialists, and other professionals for outstanding project design and construction. More than 80,000 residential remodeling professionals were invited to apply for this years awards program. A panel of industry experts reviewed each of the entries and selected the winning projects based on aesthetic appeal, construction techniques, handling of unusual situations, attention to detail, functionality of space, financial success and overall impression.
