Sprinkler system contained fire at building on DOW property By Jo Ciavaglia Staff writer PhillyBurbs.com

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP A small fire in a storage room in a building on the Dow chemical property in Bristol Township was quickly placed under control Thursday.

The fire was reported shortly before 4 p.m. in the Dow emulsion building, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said. The cause of the fire was a short in a florescent light ceiling fixture that ignited cardboard boxes in the room.

The building was closed at the time of the fire, and its internal sprinkler system contained the fire to the room, Dippolito said.

There were no injures and no chemicals escaped, he added.
