On January 2nd, 2013, he buried his wife of over 50 years. Two weeks later he returned from a doctor #39;s appointment to find his home vandalized, his wife #39;s beloved keepsakes scrawled with graffiti. His home, and his life, was in shambles. "I don #39;t even have any enemies. I don #39;t know why anyone would do this to me," Mr. Wood told talk host Michael Berry. Berry put out the word, asking for donations to help Mr. Wood. In 3 hours, $45000 in cash came in. But that wasn #39;t even the most impressive response. Over 60 companies representing different aspects of real estate -- from roofing to flooring to home security to furniture companies -- came together and rebuilt the modest home Mr. Wood built for his family 55 years ago.
