Laurel Wilt disease in trees
Laurel wilt disease is deadly to trees in the laurel family, including redbay and avocado trees. Laurel oaks are not included. Laurel wilt disease is caused by a fungus that stops the flow of water in host trees, causing the leaves to wilt. The fungus is carried into trees by the redbay ambrosia beetle. While there is no cure and no method for controlling the fungus or beetle, there is NOT a tree removal mandate by Volusia County. Some residents have reported they #39;ve been approached by a select group of tree trimmers, who told them about the false mandate.From:VolusiaCountyInfoViews:0 0ratingsTime:02:18More inNews Politics
