Snow hits valley floor
By Jessica De Nova/KTVL.com JACKSON COUNTY, Ore.-Snow falls in Jackson County neighborhoods while Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) works to keep roads safe for travelers.Many residents woke up to their neighborhoods turned white."To our surprise, we looked out the bedroom window and the hedge and the fence was all covered with snow and it was coming down some pretty big flakes and it was absolutely beautiful," says Central Point resident, Jim Goode.Goode, born and raised in Prospect, is very familiar with snow.Dogs and children around his neighborhood ran on the streets this morning, welcoming the new look of their neighborhood.Jim Goode hopes the snow continues to put on a show tonight. He says, "If it #39;s gonna snow here in the valley, which it does like I said two or three times a year, it couldn #39;t come at a better time. I hope we do have it and it sticks around at least till people can see the lights at night with it going. It is just beautiful."Meanwhile on the Siskiyou Summit, a man heading home from Portland did not have such a beautiful experience with this weather."I was heading home to California, I don #39;t know what happened, but my truck turned," says Juan Luis Tiroche of California.Tiroche spun around enough to find himself facing the wrong direction.He drove about 300 feet going north on the south-bound I-5, staying close to the retaining wall.Tiroche was able to cross off the freeway when someone stopped traffic for him."I don #39;t know what I was ...From:news10ktvl1Views:0 0ratingsTime:02:34More inNews Politics
