The Quinlan Group

"We are difficult and tedious clients who say at the outset that we will be guided by our architect.....but then give preference tour own ideas, and send sketched instructions on squared paper expecting our misguided vision to result in excellence.Quinlan and his colleagues did not treat us with the distain we deserved.....but guided us through the swamp of planning and application processes with tact and professionalism.Their ideas often prevailed, and the finished result surprised even the architect in its simplicity and effectiveness.Engage Quinlan and be assured of the best efforts of this talented and industrious Perth-boy."

"We really enjoyed working with Danny, he made the process of renovating our 100 year old house really enjoyable. Danny did come up with the perfect solution for each little challenge, and now, 5 years in the house, we appreciate all the little details. We highly recommend Danny Bro and team."

"My wife and I live in Singapore, and taking on the task of designing and building a house on the Mornington peninsula in Melbourne was always going to be challenging given the distance and the fact we wanted to be closely involved. Engaging Minett Studio has been a terrific decision as not only are we happy with the architecture, but Alishia has seamlessly managed all the interconnecting parts for us engineers, planning authorities, builders and suppliers. Her skill lies in understanding what each player needs, and designing right solutions on the first attempt. Were delighted with her expertise and service."

"Dear Clinton,It is with pleasure that we write to you to express our gratitude for commencing and completing the renovation of our property at 180 Barcom Avenue, Darlinghurst.Initially we came to you at a time when our proposed renovation with another builder/designer was turning into a complete nightmare. Thankfully we saw the light, sacked the w***** and turned to you in desperation. Our act of desperation turned into a fabulous opportunity and post CplusCs appointment we moved ahead at a rapid and consistent pace. We were most fortunate to have your expertise and guidance throughout the project. We especially appreciated and respected your advice and felt safe, positively controlled and highly informed throughout the process. We have been asked many times if we would do it again and we have categorically stated that if we had CplusC performing a renovation we wouldnt hesitate. So thanks once again to you and not to mention the fabulous tradies. Too many times you hear of great jobs accompanied by bad staff or vice versa, however we were able to experience both.We wish you all the success with CplusC. R. & J. "I engaged Taylor Knights as architects and interior designers for this challenging renovation and addition to my Federation home in St Kilda. They far exceeded my expectations with service and innovative design. Peter and James carefully listened to the complex brief, responding in a considered way delivering a house exceptional in design and on budget. Maximum advantage was made of the space available, even converting the existing roof space into a home office, something I hadnt considered. By working the traditional heritage features with the contemporary an element of surprise and sophistication has been achieved throughout. I particularly love the connection with the outdoors and the use of natural light which streams through the skylights on even the dullest days. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. This is a fantastic home and I would highly recommend Taylor Knights."

"We have worked on a number projects McMahon & Nerlich and found them to be great to work with! Their pragmatic and level-headed approach to building issues ensures the construction phase runs smoothly free for all parties. We have worked on renovation projects up to $1m and would have no hesitation in recommending McMahon & Nerlich for renovation and new build projects."

"In 1996, Robert designed a brilliant renovation for our Edwardian home in North Melbourne. It became a home we loved to live, work and entertain in and we lived there for 15 great years. Now weve moved out to the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, where our landscape is all about space and sky. Weve been on paper with Robert again for the past year and now have another beautiful design to progress. His ability to listen and hear whats important to you and what you want a home to be is greatly appreciated after all, youre the ones wholl be living there. There are many different challenges this time around a home that will be off-grid completely and require minimal heating and cooling requires a great deal of additional thinking and planning. He effortlessly guides us through all parts of the process and he is collaborative and consultative. As with our earlier working relationship, were happy that Robert just gets us and what we want to achieve. This time were planning our forever home and we know were in safe hands."

"Jess and Tristan are both extremely professional and a joy to work with. They came to our house to meet personally to discuss our needs and look at the property. They were extremely honest with their quote and were able to explain to us exactly what we would be able to do within our budget. Every step of the way they were friendly, helpful, and were able to keep our minds at rest by emailing us updates. After it was all over we were able to extend our loungeroom out and raise the ceiling. If we ever need help with an extension (or even a new house!) again we will definitely be giving them another call. Thanks guys!"

"I photographed Mihaly Slocombe's Glendearg Grove project last year. What I really liked about this project is how much light it captured and how the indoor space communicated with the space outside. As soon as I walked inside, it felt open and homely at the same time. I was particularly impressed with the level of detail Erica and Warwick put into the kitchen design - not only was it aesthetically beautiful, with it's contrasting tones and materials, but it was a pleasurable kinaesthetic experience, one of tactile functionality. After the shoot I wanted to get in there and cook a meal, just so I could touch everything!Working with Mihaly Slocombe on photoshoots has been a smooth collaboration - we both have great care for detail and getting it right. They are true professionals and their passion for great architectural solutions is evident."
