MUSTANG, Oklahoma -

A father-son duo was arrested and accused of stealing from Mustang Public Schools (MPS).

Investigators said the district's long-time plumber and his son may have been stealing from MPS for years.

Investigators with the Canadian County Sheriff's Office said Melvin Hibbs, the district's plumber, admitted to everything. And they said he told them he doesn't feel bad at all about stealing school equipment.

Investigators believe the 55-year-old may have been stealing from MPS for more than a decade.

He took advantage of his employer and actually stole from them. He's stealing from the hand that's feeding them, said Canadian County Undersheriff, Chris West.

Three weeks ago the Canadian County Sheriff's Office was contacted by MPS.

It said someone came forward after getting property with Mustang schools clearly marked on it.

Pretty quick [sic], we realized that the thefts actually did originate from the Mustang High School area, said West.
