Patios were packed whilecyclist and runners crowded the paths along the Rideau Canal as the temperature hit 14 C in Ottawa Friday, but the joy of spring will be short-lived snow is expected overnight.

The sunny Good Friday will grow more sombre, as cloud and rain move in as the evening wears on, according to Environment Canada.

As the temperature dropsto a low of - 4 C overnight,rain will turn to snow.

Expect to wake up to two centimetres of fresh snow on Saturday, with another two centimetres in the morning.

It will be windy, with gusts up to 40 kilometres per hour, butthe temperature is expected to rise a bit to3 C in the daybefore dropping down to -7 C overnight.

The next few days threaten snow as well, with a 30 per cent chance on Sunday, a 30 per cent chance on Mondayand a 40 per cent chance on Tuesday.
