The Fletcher branch of the Henderson County Public Library will be closed Monday, March 16, through Saturday, March 21, for new carpet installation. The library will reopen on Monday, March 23, at 10 a.m. Please plan to use the other library branches of the library during this time.

The 12th annual Kindergarten Readiness Rally will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Blue Ridge Mall, 1800 Four Seasons Blvd., Hendersonville. Hands-on activities will be provided for pre-k and kindergarten-age children, while parents gather important information about kindergarten registration. Youth OUTright WNC Inc., and PRiSM will present the first Queer Youth Movie Night featuring Milk, starring Sean Penn, at 7 p.m. March 20 in the Patton Auditorium at Blue Ridge Community College, Flat Rock. The Henderson County Hunger Coalition is seeking sponsors for the 33rd annual Hunger Walk at Jackson Park in Hendersonville in September. This Saturday morning active outreach event benefits all the major food pantries serving the county. Hunger Walk sponsors are recognized on the T-shirts that Walk participants wear at the event and throughout the year. The Ikenobo Ikebana Society, Blue Ridge Chapter, will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church of Hendersonville, 1735 Fifth Ave. W., Hendersonville.
