Underground cable crews have been working in the area for months. But one of them dug too deep last fall, leaving quite a mess and repair bill. A local plumber and landlord are still waiting to be paid.

A cable layer that missed the mark ended up in hot water that poured from a pipes to Sam Gaeta's three apartment buildings. The landlord says, Theyre coming into our town to do work so they should be liable."

Last October an underground cable installer cut water pipes but promised to pay for emergency repairs. Still waiting for checks, the landlord and plumber hope that wasn't just a line.

Fact Finders left messages with several representatives of the cable subcontractor called Lantel out of Missouri. WOWT6 News reached one of them who told us a payment request has been sent to the proper department. But she wouldn't say when the local plumber or landlord can expect a check.
