THE Davao City Demolition Unit (CDU) plans to conduct a "bigger" demolition against vendors who violate the one-third-two-third policy in Bankerohan next week.

"So much warning has been given to them (vendors) and sila nalang pud ang nabilin na area nga wala pa nato na-operationan (It is the only remaining area that we haven't operated in)," CDU head retired colonel Yusof Jimlani said in a phone interview.

Jimlani said that despite of all the warnings that they gave vendors in Bankerohan last December, the vendors still continue to fill-in the sidewalks to the point that they are already occupying portions of the road.

"Even if we don't want to do it kay maluoy man pud ta nila kay daghan kaayo sila, murag naman gud ug zigzag ang atong ubang dalan dira kay napuno na ug mga baligya (We pity them because they are many, but the roads there are already like zigzag because it has been filled with a lot of goods being sold)," he said.

For this week, Jimlani said they started confiscating items from the violators on Thursday after extending it for three days.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte previously approved a moratorium for the CDU operations for the holidays and resume on January 4.

"After nag-tuyok tuyok atong mga teams to advise them na manghipos na sila, nag-conduct na gyud mi ug confiscation sa ilaha kay dili na jud madala (After our teams warned them to keep their goods, we have already conducted confiscation operations because we really cannot consider it anymore)," Jimlani said.

Three confiscations were conducted in Uyanguren while one was conducted near NCCC Mall in Ma-a. (KGL)
