DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

The community is coming together to help those who are homeless after a block in southwest Detroit went up in flames when a house exploded last week. In some cases, the only thing left was the front porches.

Seven homes in the block were destroyed, but what came from the catastrophe was kindness.

"[This is] an amazing networking and community effort to help all these families. I've had numerous donations brought to my house from clothing, food, diapers, furniture," says Jessica Ramirez of Detroiters Helping Each Other. "We have companies stepping up to repair roofs, people offering free apartments for the families. It's just an amazing work of the community coming together."

The Detroit Tigers were able to donate auction and raffle items to the fundraiser, helping those who have lost their homes.

So many have stepped up to help the victims of the fire and you can, too. Click here to view an online charity hosted by Detroit Bully Corps.
