A Nebraska man is in the hospital after his SUV launched off a 30-foot retaining wall into a parking lot Monday.

Omaha police said Lance Stephenson, 29, was driving a Jeep Cherokee around 12:15 a.m. on 120th Street near West Center Road.

Police said Stephenson's Jeep struck a Toyota RAV4 that was stopped in a turn lane, then crossed into the oncoming lanes of 120th Street.

Investigators said Stephenson then drove over a median, hit a sign and drove down an embankment launching off a 30-foot retaining wall ending up in a Nobbies store parking lot.

Paramedics took Stephenson to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police charges are pending against Stephenson. The driver of the Toyota was not seriously hurt.
