Police responded around 4:10 a.m. to a complaint of an intoxicated man with a flashlight, yelling and screaming and damaging fences, Bend police Sgt. Elizabeth Lawrence said.

A second caller advised the man, wearing dark clothing, was near their home, pacing up and down the street with a flashlight, Lawrence told KTVZ.

Officers contacted the man, identified as Vitaliy V. Ivanov, in the 1600 block of Awbrey Road as he illuminated a home with a handgun light that was not attached to a weapon, the sergeant said.

Lawrence said Ivanov resisted arrest as he was taken into custody on a criminal mischief charge, and he was found to have a concealed semi-automatic handgun, along with four loaded magazines.

Later, two more loaded magazines and a can of pepper spray were found in the landscaping near where Ivanov was arrested, police said.

Ivanov was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He remained held late Saturday on $20,000 bail.
