News Release: Florida Dept. of Transportation August 11, 2014
Chipley, Fla. Construction is underway on State Road (S.R.) 61 (Thomasville Road) from Live Oak Plantation Road to Woodbine Drive in Leon County. To minimize impacts to the traveling public, construction work involving lane closures will be performed at night. Drivers will encounter lane closures Monday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 14 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
This $2.1 million project includes milling and resurfacing, curb and gutter improvements, updated traffic signals, improved highway signing, and guardrail installation. A bicycle lane will be added between Waverly Road and Live Oak Plantation Road. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.
All construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention and use caution when driving through the work zone.
