What is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City? Grand Theft Auto: Vice City draws much of its inspiration from 1980s American culture. Set in 1986 in Vice City, a fictional city modeled after Miami, the story revolves around Mafia hitman Tommy Vercetti, who was recently released from prison. After being involved in a drug deal gone wrong, Tommy seeks out those responsible while building a criminal empire and seizing power from other criminal organizations in the city. The game uses a tweaked version of the game engine used in Grand Theft Auto III and similarly presents a huge cityscape, fully populated with buildings, vehicles, and people. Like other games in the series, Vice City has elements from driving games and thirdperson shooters, and features an open world gameplay that gives players more control over their playing experience. This replaces your The Diaz drug cartel with the Vercetti gang. The Cubans: The Cubans are a Cuban street gang that operate in Little Havana, they are lead by Umberto Robina. In 1986, they are fighting for control of the two poor communities, Little Havana and Little Haiti with the Haitains. The Hatians: The Hatians are lead by Aunt Poulet, who gives Tommy work to create trouble for the Cubans whilst hallucinating him with her "Tea". They operate around the poor community of little Haiti. The Sharks: The sharks are a small time street gang that mainly operate in Prawn Island around the run down mansions. They are also often seen around North point mall. Bikers: The Vice city bikers are a small outlaw biker gang, based on the Hells Angels, that operate in Downtown Vice city. Diaz's gang: The Diaz gang are a large Colombian drug cartel that operate around Starish Island (Where Diaz's mansion/Vercetti estate is). They are affiliated with the Cubans after performing drug deals with them. Street wannabe's: In Grand theft auto: Vice city, there is a group of gangs that are named street wannabes (including the Sharks, but they served as a more criminally minded gang) Although these aren't real criminal gangs in the game, they still attack you if you cause a threat to them.
