Milgard unveiled two new offerings within its Moving Glass Wall Systems today. Consumers will now have the choice of Bi-Fold and Pocket operating styles in addition to the existing Stacking option when they consider Moving Glass Wall Systems.

In July 2013, Milgard launched Moving Glass Wall Systems, a glass wall system available in standard sizes, making the option more obtainable to a wider range of homeowners. Compared to custom-sized glass walls, Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems are also more affordable.

Now, Milgard responds to demand for more glass wall options as consumers increasingly look to integrate indoor-outdoor living in their homes.

The demand for Moving Glass Wall Systems is only picking up momentum, and consumers are continuing to look for innovative ways to find the useable square footage in a smaller footprint, said Keith Dashofy, product manager of the Moving Glass Wall Systems. With the expansion of our Moving Glass Wall System to include Stacking, Pocketing and Bi Fold door operations, consumers now have multiple choices when it comes to unlocking these spaces that create a healthy and inspirational environment for the generations to come.

The line extension provides consumers alternatives to accomplish distinct design effects. The Bi-Fold option employs a bottom loaded operation which eliminates the need for a structural header. Large glass panels are connected by hinges and each panel simply folds on top of the adjacent panel to open.

Pocket doors take up less room because when fully open, the glass panels slide into the wall and completely disappear from view. Because of this operation feature, pocketing panels add more floor space than hinged panels.

With Moving Glass Wall Systems, homeowners can enjoy a seamless transition from room to room or close off areas just as easily. Since large glass walls are often built into high-end houses, the product adds a touch of luxury to any home.

Milgard Moving Glass Wall Systems are available in several stock finishes including white, dark bronze anodized aluminum and Aluminum Clad Wood with Clear Vertical Grain Douglas Fir and Pine. All aluminum frames are thermally broken for improved energy efficiency.
