KUCHING: Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) Sarawak Chapter together with the support from NS BlueScope Lysaght (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (NS BlueScope Lysaght) will play host to the Design Forum 2014.

Forum organising chairman Ng Chee Wee in a press conference yesterday said the forum will exhibit various creative architectural works and sharing from experts speakers from around the region with the theme of high-tech/low tech.

The forum provides a good platform not just for the architectual fraternity to participate but members of the public who wants to build and design new houses or offices.

It is a great opportunity to get some creative views on the various designs and work done by some of the renowned architects in this region, Ng said.

This year, Ng revealed that they will be bringing in several architects such as Vasu (Virajslip) from Bangkok (Thailand), Andrew (Maynard) from Melbourne, Australia, Yip Yuen Hong from Singapore and Razin (Mahmood) from Johor Bahru as speakers.

We also have an artist and writer, Jason Wee from Singapore, who will be sharing his views on designs and spaces from a non-architectual perspective.

We are hoping that they can share more about their ideas behind their design and how to incorporate their work using a mixture of high-tech/low tech equipments here, he said.

Meanwhile, PAM Sarawak Chapter vice chairman Kho Meng Kang said the forum will provide valuable insights and fresh ideas to those who are interested and passionate about architectural and designs.

With some of the speakers who are experts in the industry, their sharing will provide fresh ideas and insights on how to do things in a different ways.
