EVANSVILLE An Evansville man was arrested late Friday night after he wrecked his pickup truck on the city's West Side, according to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office.
Lt. Jana Wade said John P. Marsh, 32, had a blood alcohol level of .25, more than triple the legal limit, when he lost control of his 1999 Ford F-150 near the 4600 block of Hogue Road at around 11:30 p.m. Marsh struck a retaining wall, several mailboxes, and a utility pole before his vehicle rolled to its side near a tree, Wade said.
Sgt. Jim Boyd said Marsh lost control of the truck while attempting to correct a turn after he veered from the driving lane. The accident is under investigation, Boyd said.
No passengers were in the vehicle. Marsh suffered serious lacerations to the forehead and was admitted to Deaconess Hospital, where deputies soon discovered the extent of Marsh's drunkenness.
The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office will file charges at a later date. Charges include operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OMVWI), OMVWI with a blood alcohol level of .15 or more, and refusal to submit to chemical test.

February 1, 2014 Crisp Academy decks Highland foes for a second time
Harvey Simpson Cordele Dispatch The Cordele Dispatch Sat Feb 01, 2014, 06:51 PM EST
Valdosta To the surprise of absolutely no one who had seen the previous twin bill between Crisp Academy and Highland Christian, the visiting teams stayed unbeaten in Region 3-A GISA play Friday.
A 72-5 victor over the Lady Highlanders when they met in Cordele 10 days earlier, the Lady Wildcats downed them 49-14 in the re-match. In the process, the three-time defending state champs notched the schools fifth straight season of 20 or more wins by a girls team.
A 78-51 conqueror of the Highlanders in their initial clash that resulted in Highland school officials filing complaints about things allegedly said to their players here, the Wildcats won a closely-officiated re-match, 52-42.
In both cases, the results enabled Crisp to remain unbeaten (4-0) atop the region standings prior to their scraps yesterday afternoon at likewise undefeated Georgia Christian.
Overall, the Lady Wildcats were 20-2 and the Wildcats were 9-7 after games here. Their schedule for the coming week calls for Tuesday home games vs. Grace Christian and a Friday visit to Fullington.
For complete details of both games, please see our Sunday,. February 2, issue.
