    Three cars in the same area of the Marion Oaks community had windows damaged with what appeared to be a pellet gun sometime late Saturday or early Sunday.

    The first incident was reported Sunday morning when a resident in the 17000 block of Southwest 39th Circle reported that the passenger side window of a 1997 Dodge pickup parked in his driveway had been peppered, leaving small holes. A small pellet was found on the ground near the truck, according to Marion County Sheriffs Office reports. The replacement cost of the window was estimated at $500.

    Several hours later, a resident in the 17300 block of Southwest 44th Circle called the sheriffs office to report a similar incident involving a 1996 Honda Civic. The windshield and the drivers side window showed damage, including several small holes in the drivers side window. Replacement of the windows was estimated at $700.

    Just after 6 p.m. Sunday a woman reported that the back windshield of her 2009 Dodge had several small holes in it. An officer spotted a pellet on the ground near the car, at a home in the 16900 block of Southwest 37th Terrace Road.

    While officials were investigating, damage was discovered on another car at the home. A 2001 Toyota sedan had been shot at least 10 times, causing dents and knocking off paint chips on the front passenger side door, reports state.

    We do believe that the cases are related due to the close proximity and the fact they all occurred on the same day. However, at this time we have no information that would lead us to who was responsible for the damage, said Capt. James Pogue, sheriffs office spokesman.

The savings generated in this process can then be reinvested in other high-performance features to further reduce energy use.
